ISU
ISU
ISU, started for us from the perspective of the way Kevin cuts hair: simple, pure, details and complexity. Treating the clients hair with natural products, the same way we treat all our materials. We wanted to translate his vision for hair into our vision of materials.
Everything that you see is customized especially for his project. From bowls, crane, benches, coat racks, etc
The bowl for example is an experiment that we did with a Syrian refugee, a master in ceramic back in Syria who now, because of the war, works and lives in Antwerp. He could handle the clay so gentle and smooth. We love the crack in everything and that’s in the bowl. That moment where a design molds in people’s hands and that it becomes just that thing that you dreamed of. That’s for us the little magic we hope to seek and find in every project. From floor till the outdoor tree, every detail we could work out and that’s always a great gift. When you can focus on the bigger and the smallest details, and when the client wants to walk that same path with you.
The lamps are an older going east design but this time we wanted them really roost to match the space and the other details/furniture. It’s fun to re-use designs in other projects and than match it to the clients specific project.
We didn’t find a crane that matched the bowl, so even this was copper platted with the hand. It’s in the little details for us.
